Exploring his roots, inspired by the music of his youth and the sounds that helped shape part of his musical upbringing sees Beat Spacek reworking the absolute classic cut 'Ring The Alarm' from Tenor Saw for an updated club ready, bassline heavy version of a Reggae tune that made a Jamaican Dancehall singjay internationally famous.
With one side of Spacek's musical brain planted in the past and the other ever moving toward the future, the 2017 version 'Ring Di Alarm' features his instantly recognisable vocal tone floating atop a deep and pulsating rhythm in his signature uptempo style all the while paying respect to a tune that has torn up many a dance.
Garnering early attention from heavyweight selectors and tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay, Alexander Nut, Josey Rebelle and Benji B, this out of the box version from a modern soul luminary is every bit as classic as the original that served as inspiration.
